B - Busy as a Brain-dead Bee
Your guess is as good as mine on whether or not the blog content will have any relation at all to the blog title!
I'm writing this from an unfamiliar computer, and that is my brilliant reasoning for why my name is at the top of the blog instead of at the bottom. I couldn't get it to move. If you are much younger than I am, like, say, the age of my daughter, you may be rolling your eyes at this logic. But, that's my story, and I'm stickin' to it.
Hubby and I are back on the road again. We have been gone so much lately, when there is so much work to do on our house, that I am starting to feel a little braindead. The best way for me to deal with a lot of stress is to just power-down the old brain. It goes from lower to lowest.
I'm sitting in my BIL's office, using his computer, and deathly afraid that the wrong button will be hit, and, al-a-ka-zaam! everything will disappear, and I will be blamed.
Everyone in the house is gone today, so I'm sitting here all by my lonesome. But, not to worry, SIL has given me a project to do. She's always more than happy to give me something to do to keep me busy. (buzz-buzz)
Today my little project is to paint and re-upholster a little bench for her grandson. I have no problem with the painting, but this is my first attempt to re-upholster something. It doesn't look too difficult, so I'm up for the challenge.
Since yesterday was April Fool's, I'll leave you with the story of how I was the fool for yet another year. Growl. I usually start a few days before April 1, trying to reinforce to my brain that April 1 is coming. Be aware! Don't be fooled! However, we were busy this weekend helping my BIL and SIL get a house ready to sell, and we also stayed up late watching our OSU Buckeyes suffer an embarrassing loss in basketball. And, I kind of forgot that April 1 was coming up.
So, early Sunday morning, Hubby distracted me by saying, "When I woke up, I didn't know where I was."
"Ah, but did you know who you were with?" I quickly asked him. He assured me that the feeling only lasted a split second. So, we laid there talking, when he said, "What's wrong with your face?"
"What? Do I have more red splotches that usual?"
"No." he said. "It's down around your chin. Your skin is sagging."
"Are you talking about my wrinkles?" I said, starting to feel my face with my hands.
"No. Your skin looks saggy." he repeated.
"Well, maybe I had a mini stroke last night", I kind of joked.
He looked at me, very concerned, then said, "APRIL FOOL!"
Dang it!! He got me again. He laughed and said, "I knew if I appealed to your vanity, I could get you!."
What can I say? He was right. Maybe next year I won't be fooled. (But, I doubt it.)
In honor of the letter B, have a BEEEEE-UUU-TEEE-FUL Day!

ReplyDeleteI am ready for a road trip! Need a driver? Now, you got me wondering how busy can a brain dead bee be? I'll be chewing on that on all day.

Busy like a bee indeed!
ReplyDeleteHah, that sounds like something my hubby would do to me...silly men! But I do know the feeling of forgetting what I am doing, or thinking or why I happen to be standing where I am. :) Just keep smiling!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the upholstering! I did smile at your husband and his little April Fool's joke! Hee Hee! That's quite sweet really.
ReplyDeleteNo one would dare ask me to re-unholster anything.. I can't sew at all. Never have been able too. You are a brave soul. haha. I would have fallen for that April fools joke too.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear about your re-upholstering adventure. I'm actually surprised you didn't call me about it.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that Mr A isn't into April Fool jokes and now the kids are gone I don't have to be on my guard. Your life certainly sounds hectic right now and yes, you do sound as busy as a brain dead bee... I think?!
ReplyDeleteI’m doing the A to Z Challenge too at A to Z of Nostalgia
I had to check to see where my face was but my hands could not stretch down to my knees. I mean it really sucks to be growing up. But your hubby sure did get you.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
