J is for...

Jaaa....., jeeee...., jiiiii...., joooo...., juuuu....,

Sigh. I got nuthin'.

Jumping Jehosophat! Why can't I think of anything to blog about that begins with the letter 'j'?

I've been given a few suggestions for a 'J' blog, but nothing jumped out to say "that's the one"!!

This is just a jolly jam I've jumped in to. I think all the "Grammy time" has jumbled my brain.

I even enlisted the help of my granddaughter, Sweetie Pie, to help me think of words.

She's five.

"Sweetie Pie, what words start with 'j'?"  She didn't miss a beat - "Jellyfish!" "Jack and the beanstalk, jello, Jesus, jam..." The words just poured out of her. I couldn't write them down fast enough.

I was impressed.

But, that led to a new game. "Grammy, let's do 'c'. What starts with 'c'? ca-ca-cat! What starts with 'h'?" "What starts with 'v'?"  (Oh, good. I'll get some ideas for the 'v' blog.) "Violin! Violet! Vampire!"

And on and on we played. For a good hour or so. She and Pappy were thinking of words faster than I could write them down. If I got slack in my writing, I would hear, "Grammy! Write it down!" We were having a jolly good time, and you might be jealous of me.

But, now, I'm going to hang my head in shame, crawl away with my tail between my legs (metaphorically speaking. I don't really have a tail.), and give myself ten lashes with a wet noodle. After that, I'm going to go blog hopping and read all the great 'j' blogs that have been posted. Then I'll knock myself on the head, and say, "DUH! Why didn't I think of that???"
