Project 52 - Week 21

Well, I've had a very busy week. It hasn't been a fun week, but I have gotten a lot of stuff done. Mostly cleaning. So, now you know how un-fun my week has been.  I've been trying to get by cleaning with a "lick and a promise" for quite a long time, and that system eventually catches up with you.

This has been a week of washing and ironing curtains, mopping floors, cleaning carpets. Since the weather has been raining, cold and generally yucky, might as well be spending the time doing generally yucky stuff.

I still don't have my computer back from the "hospital".  It caught a virus, but, thankfully, I didn't lose any valuable or invaluable information. We only lost some icons, and all the short cuts.  Apparently, this is something that rarely happens.  Usually, all or nothing is lost.

"We've never seen this happen before."  I really wish that I would have started  keeping track of the number of times I have heard this phrase, and the events that brought them on.  These words have been said in relation to vehicles, appliances, health issues, and now computers.  It makes me feel like we are some kind of freaks of nature that so many "we have never seen this before" statements have been said.  And, of course it takes twice as long to fix/find the problem than usual.  Or, it usually requires some uncommon piece of equipment or tool to fix it properly.

I've been using Amazing Daughter's laptop, so I'm able to stay connected. I'm trying to get used to blogging "mouse free", and to be honest, I miss that little mouse!

I've also managed to do a little reading. My reading time has diminished quite a lot because I'm no longer babysitting. (My little babysit-ee always took about a 2 hour nap. I miss that job!) During the A-Z Blogging Challenge in April, I won an e-book by fellow blogger Anne K. Albert, "Frank, Incense, and Muriel".  It's a humorous mystery novel, and I throughly enjoyed it.

I hope you are accomplishing your goals, whether they are on a list, or not!

  1. I'm afraid to put my list down on paper - somehow it's not as overwhelming when it's just floating through my brain....

  2. Cleaning here too. It never ends. I have to say Lists are the only way I stay on track. Good luck and hope you get your computer back soon. Blessings, Joanne

  3. Oh boy do I know what you mean about trying to cut corners with chores that then come back to bite you on the ankle! Well done to you for tackling the job head on! I find after a really good cleaning, it's so much easier to maintain. Had a good chuckle at your comment in regard to always being on the receiving end of "never seen this before!" comments. Very enjoyable post, Darlene ;) and you 've inspired me to do some thorough cleaning tomorrow. Our weather forecast says we have an 80% chance of rain.

  5. When you're done with all that Spring Cleaning, can you stop by my house? I've gotten a little behind...
