O Tannenbaum

The stockings are hung by the chimney. Well, actually, that's not quite true. The stockings are waiting to be hung by the chimney, and I'm not sure how much care will be taken. It depends on how cooperative those stockings will be. After spending the first week standing naked in the living room, the tree is finally decorated. (And, all the boxes have been put away!)  The shopping is almost finished. I still have four more shopping days! I am sad to say that not one Christmas card was sent out this year. I just couldn't seem to get into the mood. (Probably because this was not on my Project 52 list!)

Son and Sweetie Pie will be arriving on the 23rd, and our little family of six will all be together for Christmas.

This past weekend Hubby and I attended a wedding at the Franklin Conservatory in Columbus. I never knew there were so many varieties of poinsettias. I don't get out much. Everything was quite beautiful. So, as the year is winding down, here are some pictures from the Conservatory.

But first, here is a picture of our tree. I just discovered this little edit option, which can change your photo to look like a cartoon. Cool, huh? Please overlook all the pine needles on the carpet.

The real thing
 Now,back to the Conservatory...
A 25 foot poinsettia tree

There were some cool glass sculptures in the mix.

And, there was a gingerbread house competition...except the first place award went to a train.

A closer view

I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. Thank you so much for being my bloggy friends. I'm looking forward to spending the new year with you, and making new friends. I'll be working on my new Project 52 list. So far, I have one thing for next year...send out Christmas cards. Only 51 to go! See how easy it is?

  2. Your tree is gorgeous! And the conservatory was amazing! I sent cards out today...usually I get them out by the end of the first week of the month but had to wait for everyone to be here for the picture this year! Merry Christmas!

  3. I love your tree! It's beautiful and I love how you can change it with a simple edit feature. The conservatory pictures are amazing. I bet in person it was "magical". I loved the train! When my late husband was a working chef, he entered all kinds of competitions. I should scan in pictures of some of the works entered someday. It's amazing. Thanks for sharing!

  8. Merry Christmas to you! I hope that you enjoy your time with your family and your little sweetie pie.

I like the glass floating in the water. It brings to mind fairies and nymphs, as if it were a lily pond.

    Have a great one!

  11. I just wanted to say I hope you had a Merry Christmas and glad you got your tree decorated. I have been sick, well since before Thanksgiving, and been so slow to commenting anywhere. I read the posts but pretty much have been too tired to leave comments. I have not even been able to leave them all the time at the Theme Thursday posts due to being sick. It takes me all week to try and do them and this past week was the first week I think I got most of them done.

It is funny, well maybe not really funny, how much I have been sleeping. Can you believe me the insomniac is actually sleeping. I try to watch TV and fall asleep on the couch, I try to read posts and fall asleep.

I never even got my Christmas shopping done because I could not summon the energy. The grandkids did not even ask where their gifts were, but I had bought gifts for the wee wittle ones way back when so they had gifts, but the older ones nothing.

Anyway I just wanted to give you Holiday wishes. I am gonna crawl back into bed and sleep for about 12 hours.

    Best wishes.

    God bless.
